My Maytag Atlantis was making a screech after it went through the spin cycles. Now it doesn't agitate at all. I can hear the motor go through it's normal process. Could some one tell what's wrong ?

Does it drain and/or spin? Does the motor run?

Yes Ican hear the motor go through it's washing cycles,but the tub doesn't agitate or spin. It also delivers water and drains properly.

Remove the front panel and check the belt. Check the thrust bearing (#3 on the diagram) as described in the Service Manual.
