My Maytag washer has a problem that I thought was a worn belt. I replaced the belts, and the problem is not resolved.

I noticed no agitation during the wash cycle, and the belt appears to be slipping due to noise, and smell.

The washer will drain, and spin if I advance the control. The timer appears to be working.

Does anyone know the part that is failing?

I attempted to get a service manual from Maytag, but they claim they don't have them anymore.

Regards
