It is possible that there is a problem with the cold side of the water valve so that you are only filling with cold water.
Turn off the cold water tap.
Undo the hose at the machine and run some water into a pail, to be sure cold water is reaching the machine. If OK
Look into the machines cold water valve and check that the filter screen on the input side of the valve is clean. If not clean it. Do not permanently remove it as it is there to keep crud out of the valve which could hold the valve open and cause a flood. If OK
Reattach the hose, unplug the unit and switch the wires from the hot to the cold and vice versa.
We know that the hot valve is getting power and opens. By switching the valve wiring we know that the cold valve will get power and should open. If you do not get cold water then you know that the valve is not opening and should be replaced.
If you get cold water then you know the valve is probably OK and the problem is upstream of the valve.
A model number may be helpful here. Some machines use a temperature sensing board which fails quite often. |
