We tried to self clean our GE Double oven and after reading these forms, that was something that we should not have done. We tried to clean the top oven first and we got the F9 error. After the oven cooled down and door opened, we now have a flashing "locked" light on the display for the oven.
With the door in the closed position(or door closure pin pushed in), the door lock motor will continue to cycle open/closed repeatedly. The door lock end switches do make contact and I check that the two end switches do have continuity when the motor cam makes contact with their arm/switch.
The two thermal contacts are "open" when checked with a meter.
What else should I check or need to replace?
Thank you,
Peter .

f9 is generally a door lock motor theres a switch that goes out on those things or the mechanism gets jammed up check to make sure all things attached to that are working right if you can pop the top of the oven.....and yes avoid doing self clean alot of machines have problems after using it because the high tempatures..........just make sure you have 120v going to that switch in the door lock motor.......now if you don't have 120v going to that motor it would be a problem with your main board.....

Thank you I will check the voltage now. I assumed since the motor is operating that 120 V power is being delivered to the motor.

more then likely yeah the voltage is correct but you never know check it anyways.......around 80-90% of these calls i end up replacing the door lock motor but do a good examination on any related attached parts.

The voltage was 115 v. a the motor leads. Screen flashed " locked". Seems like the door lock motor continues to receive the signal to operate the motor.
