Any help is appreciated. I was changing the belt on a Maytag Performa Series Dryer Model # PYE2300AYW and the idler spring slipped off of one side of the idler arm. There is one side attached to the bottom of the idler arm. Where does the other end of the spring attach? I couldn't find any pictures or diagrams online that showed that in close detail. Thanks so much.

I never pay attention to that spring, but it is either going to mount on the base of the dryer, or a creavace on the motor bracket. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Thank you for the response. There is a little hole in the floor of the dryer that looks like it is lined up in a way that the other end of the spring could go there. However, putting it there doesn't put any tension on the spring and the idler arm just lays on top of the wiring. If I put it there will the tension of the belt pull it up off of the wiring on the floor? Does that make sense?

This may help

Does not show where the spring hooks to but does at least show how it should be when tensioned.

Did you look around the bracket the motor sits in? It is either there or the base. One or the other. If all else fails go to the "Maytag Service Library, and hit literature by model #, and then put in your model #, and see if you can down load the manual. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

I am having the same question. I would really like to hear what you figured out on this. Can you reply with the final solution?
