My dryer has begun squeaking intermittently and very loudly when I dry our clothes.

Here are your parts Replacement parts for GE DVL223EB4WW | AppliancePartsPros.comCould be any of the moving parts or part that the drum rides on BUT most likely it is the rear center support bearing. Could be worn or could be all it needs is greasing. The grease dries out over time. Open it up and check it. Note that the grounding ball bearing Item 1205 in the "Cabinet & drum" section like to jump out and play hide and seek so watch out for it. If the bearing and the support shaft/ball look good the clean them and re-grease using a high temperature grease. Here is some additional help http://www.applianceaid.com/dryers.html |

If the sound is coming from the rear, it will be the rear bearing kit. If the noise just started, you would probably get off, with justy putting a lithium greese, in the cup the drum fits in. The top needs to come up, and the front needs to come off, the belt needs to come off, and the drum needs to come out, all in that order. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
