After our washer fills up with water, it stops. It does not agitate. Then it drains all the water.
We tried it a couple of times but it wouldn't work. So then we tried to put it just on spin to dry the clothes a bit before adding them to our dryer. The washer would spin the clothes, but instead of ending the cycle it would then add water.
Any help would be very appreciated. I don't know anything about washers and am not naturally very good at fixing things but I'm on a budget. Thanks in advance.

You might have a bad water level switch. Remove the tub end of the plastic hose that goes to it and blow in it, might just fix it. Put it back, then check and see if that fixed it, post results.

If it was "stuck", I would force some vinegar down the tube with a turkey baster and dump some in the tub, to clear out soap residue.
