Replaced agaitator one year ago as the original would not remain in place during cycle. The replacement was redesigned and almost immediately began leaving lint and pet hair on the final washed product. Is there not some type of filter cartridge that goes in the upper cone under the cap ? Otherwise I see no way for a non element filter to work.

You usually have a comb accumilator under the spin basket. It fills up with lint, then flushes off during spin. Yours might be just clogged up with stuff. You will need to buy the special spanner wrench to pull out the spin basket.

At any rate, I'll check with them.

If you pull the agitator off, then shine a light in the basket, you should see the comb filter throught the holes in the bottom of basket. If none, you washer has none.
