Started smelling a burnt smell, then dryer was making a little noise now shuts off after a few minutes and won't restart. 15minutes late you can turn it back on, still makes a noise but drys,now making more noise

You have to find out what is causing the racket so all drum support rollers/glides should be checked along with the idler wheel.

Also check that the endbells on the motor and it's bearings are OK.

Could be just that the motor is on it's last legs.
May even be that it is just clogged solid with lint.

If it is the motor you might as wall check and replace any other worn components including the belt and drum seals. Basically do an overhaul.
Also clean/check your vent system.
