I have the dryer apart and assume that the coiled wires on the rear is the heating element. 2 of the wires look to be broken. The dryer runs and will not heat. I have checked the 3 thermostats and they are ok. If this is the heating element does it sound like I would need to replace it

Here are your parts Replacement parts for General Electric DCLR333ET1WW Electric dryer | AppliancePartsPros.comThe heating element is Item 512 in Section 4. Click on it's picture for more/better views and info. Yes if the coils are broken the heater will have to be replaced. Since you have to pull it apart I would check other parts, might as well give it an overhaul. Also this will give you an idea of what the full repair will cost. It may not be worth repairing, Check the belt, drum seals, front drum glides, rear support bearing internal air flow seals etc. |
