Hi,
My GE washer will not agitate. It will fill up with water, do nothing in the agitate cycle, drain, spin, then turn off. It does everything but agitate. When it is in the agitate cycle the motor and belt will spin(in one constant direction, but the agitator don't move. I replaced the motor a few years ago, and the replacement came with a relay and capacitor setup instead of the clutch assembly. Can you please point me in the right direction.
Thanks, Ron C.

Can you easily rotate the lower agitator by hand? If so, the agitator coupler is probably stripped out. Pull the agitator, remove the coupler and check for stripped splines up inside the coupler. If you can't easily rotate the lower agitator, then you have a bad transmission.
