Our dryer is vented into our garage because the only other option is would be a 24 FT run to the back of our home. I am using a short plastic flex to the garage and we keep the overhead open when drying. On 2 occasions this week we had an overwhelming gas odor in our garage. We called our gas utility the first time and he checked our dryer and vent in the garage and did not find a gas leak, he did however mention the carbon monoxide level was too high coming from the dryer vent.
Could this be a simple venting issue or something more? Also, should I vent my dryer to the back of the house with the 24 ft vent??
Thank you!

You also have a very dangerous venting problem!!!
I would not run 24 feet of venting in the house. I would run the vent in the garage to the outside. I would use metal ducting and would tape all joints. Think ahead as the system will have to be cleaned out every couple years. Also would ditch the plastic flex pipe.
Would be best to get a professional to look at this!!! |

The dryer manufacturer say's to only use ridgid or semi ridgid. That is only for the connection. From the dryer to the vent line. The vent line codes Are Ridged only.Must not be longer than 25ft. However if it must be longer than 25ft.You must use a booster fan to help push the moister out.The tape must be aluminum heat tape for all connection Under the house Or in the walls.
