Here are your parts Bulkhead parts, optional parts (not included) replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL WED5540SQ0 29``ELECTRIC DRYER | AppliancePartsPros.comHere is the wiring diagram, see the attachment. Which switch did you replace? Door switch or push to start relay. Also when you checked the fuse (Item 7 in Section 3) did you disconnect one side of it before measuring. This prevents you from reading an alternate/parallel circuit path. You should do this whenever measuring a component for continuity. Just because the normally closed side of the door switch opens to turn the light off does not mean that the normally open side of the switch closes giving power to the motor. So I would check it with a meter just to be sure it is closing. If the door switch. push to start relay contacts and the thermal fuse all check out OK then I would check the timer contacts. With the unit unplugged set the timer to a mid-cycle timed dry and measure BK to BU also timer switch 4 (T to W) both sets should be 0 ohms. If they are OK then check the motor windings perhaps it has burned out. |
