Washer is cycling however spray arms are not turning. I read that by adding Dishwasher Magic might solve this. Any ideas?

Thanks

Are all spray arms not turning?

How much water is inside the dishwasher when it is on the wash cycle?

What is the end of the model number?

Gene,

Both arms are not turning. I have cleaned all jets. There is less than an inch of water. The water is below the heating element.

Model number is GU1500XTLSO

Thanks

Very likely the problem is a clogged/bad chopper (#6 at the diagram). You can find more information in one of our previous threads: [FONT=&quot]http://forum.appliancepartspros...hirlpool-dishwasher.html

P.S. The normal amount of water should be about 1.8 gallons

Thanks for the information. How do I access that part? Do you think it might be the water inlet valve?

The first thing I would do is check the chopper. Click on the link I posted to read the instructions.

Gene,

I removed the chopper and don't see anything wrong with it. Is there something in particular to look for?

Thanks

If the chopper is clean and engages the motor impeller properly then there is nothing wrong with it.

The next step is to verify proper amount of water. Open the dishwasher door wile it's in wash cycle. Manually add a few caps of water and check movement of the spray arms.

If you'll see the improvement, replace the water inlet valve.

Gene,

Now it is filling with water and then hums rather than starting wash cycle. After a few minutes it discharges, So do you still think it s the water inlet valve or maybe the float switch?

Thanks

Remove the bottom access panel and pinpoint that humming sound.
