After cleaning my oven the last time the clock wouldn't work. Recently when I tried to set the cleaning cycle I could not get it to work. Would this problem be due to the clock not working and therefore not able to set the start and stop time?

Can you be more specific on what happened when you tried to set the self clean?
What happened if you tried to use Bake or Broil?

When I tried to set my self cleaning oven-I discovered the clock is not working therefore I was not able to set a start and stop time and the oven cleaning lights don't come on. The oven works fine with baking and broiling.

Open the control panel and check all wires connected to the clock. If there is nothing wrong then the clock has to be replaced. Unfortunately the new clock for your range are no longer available but you can try to rebuild the old clock through PCBR.BIZ

Here are the break down diagrams for the Amana range Model MRR-1000. I hope it will help you to figure out how to take the control panel apart. PCBR.BIZ is the URL for the web site of the company which does such job. Gene.
