Dryer stopped heating a few months ago. Tested continuity and found thermal cut off was shot. Ordered and installed kit. Dry worked fine until last week. Again tested, ordered and installed thermal cut off and hi limit. After only a few seconds dryer stopped heating again. Again thermal cut off was shot. What would cause the thermal cut off to keep failing?

Poor air flow due to blockage in the ducting (internal and/or external), or leaking drum seals, or blower wheel slipping on motor shaft, or possibly a grounded heater element. If dryer produces heat in air only cycle, element is likely grounded.
