Replace the lid switch about a month ago. Yesterday, the machine washed and rinsed the clothes, but did not spin the water out. Now the machine will not wash, rinse or spin. Do you think it is the cycle/timer control?

On some of these models a bad lid switch will stop it from operating after it fills, so check your repair to make sure nothing went wrong, and by pass the lid switch to make certain nothing is wrong with it.
If that checks out check the pump for an obstruction. Assuming this is a direct drive Whirlpool the fact that it will not drain means the motor is not working, so check those connections. A new timer may be the solution, since the motors are pretty good and rearely fail, but that also could be your problem.
