Hello. I replaced a bad heating element about 3 months ago, and now it has stopped working again. The heating element looks OK (no broken coils). I have a volt meter, but don't know where to start checking, or what reading to check for?

Thank you

A model number may help others help you.

I would start by checking the power.
The motor runs off of 120 volts but the heater requires the full 240.
Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker.
Check the voltage at the plug
L1 to L2 should be 240 volts
L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts.
If OK
Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out
If OK
Check the power at the terminal strip.
Do this with the heater off and on.

If the power is OK then check the various thermostats in the unit.
All of them should be closed at room temperature.
