My dishwasher heating element is not heating at all. I have tested the continuity of the heating element on my analog multimeter and get a reading of 0 ohm. Does this mean I should replace the heating element? Thanks in advance.

Here are your parts Parts for Whirlpool DU810SWPU3 Dishwasher - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the tech sheet. Sounds like you may have a problem reading the meter. If the reading is 0 ohms you may be on to high of a meter scale. The heater should be 30 ohms or so. Zero ohms is a dead short so the heater would blow your circuit breaker. From the tech shet you will see that there is a thermal fuse (item 26 in the Tub Parts section) in line with the heater. It should be o ohms. |

Our dishwasher apears to have hot water for washing, but no dry heat.
Does the heating element heat the wash/rince water, or does it only come into play during the drying cycle?
I guess the first things I'll check is the fuse and the resistance of the heating element?
This is a Whirlpool DP6000XRPO (in a portable cabinet)
