Need help troubleshooting,

Dishwasher does not clean dishes. Water line is connected to the hot water and the hot water is scalding hot. The water during the wash cycle is warm, not hot. The heating element during the wash cycle is not warm at all. The heating element during the drying cycle is very hot. The proper amount of water is in the tub and it seems to drain good. The dishwasher has been working fine for years until now, so it is not an installation error. I already tested the heating element with my meter and it registered around 27 ohms. Any help is truly appreciated. Thanks.

Timer models without additional switches used in conjunction with the timer don't usually offer a heated water option in the wash cycle. I'm not able to get my hands on a wiring diagram to be sure.

If the DW is near the kithen sink, are you running the hot water for a short while to purge the line before starting the unit? Don't know where your water heater is located in your home but it sounds like the first gallon or so coming into your unit just isn't as hot as it should be.

Thank you for responding. I have never had to purge the line before, so why would I have to start now? Again, any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Unfortunately I can't give a good answer to that. Purging prior to running the unit is something that manufacturers have always reccomended.

Something you may to try, start the machine up, listen for the filling of water, open the door and see if the water feels hot once the valve shuts off. If it's not as hot as what's coming out the sink then I'm back to the purging first.

Just to verify whether it should be heating in the wash cycle, try and find the wiring schematic. It would show whether or not the heater contacts in the timer should be closed during the wash cycle.
