My washer overflows approximately every fourth wash load. It appears to be a water level switch or the valve assy. Can any of these parts intermittenly fail? Is there a way to test the valve assy or the water level switch? I am thinking one of the solenoid on the valve assy is getting hot after the fourth load and staying open allowing it to overflow. If anyone has any idea as to what it may be or what I can try let me know. Thank You in advance for your help.

Unfortunately the both can go bad intermittently.

One way to tell may be to unplug the unit when it is overflowing, it the unit continues to overflow then it is the valve since it is staying open with no power applied to it.

Try removing the rubber tube from the water level switch and blowing it out. Might be some sand or strings down there. Make sure the tube is nice and snug on the switch. Pump the water out and retry.
