Whirlpool Ultimate Care II washer machine, # LSQ8543JQ1 - water overflows from the top (sometimes) when doing a load of wash - happens if it is a small or large load and with the water level switch on any setting. Already replace the water level control switch and that did not help. i am guessing that the timer is not always operating correctly. Machine will fill up to proper lever, start agiting and then stop and water will start filling again. if i move the timer knob by hand, it makes a sound (like a motor running) but the knob does not move. The p/n on the timer switch is 3953321A. please advise if you feel it is the timer switch or some other problem. Let me know if you have what is required to fix the problem and the cost and leadtime. Is there a way to test the timer switch? THANK YOU for yor assistance.

Very likely there is something wrong with the air pressure hose which goes from the water level switch to the outer tub. Remove the washer cabinet and check the hose. Make sure it is clean all the way to the tub and there is nothing inside the tub what obstruct it. Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL LSQ8543JQ1 | AppliancePartsPros.comGene.
