washer fills but won't agitate .the agitator moves but it just motor hums.it goes into the spin and rinse cycle fine just doesn't agitate in any cycle. tried to take agitator out but can't get it off. please help t1572

Check the #310 in the parts book, Remove the agitator by pulling up with a quick jerk, The coupling is SPLINED onto the tramsmission shaft, you should NOT be able to turn it by hand. If you can turn it with ease, the coupling IS BAD!!!!:)

I've tried pulling up on the agitator it seems to be stuck any ideas?

They are sometimes hard to get off, i've seen some posts where they used a rope and a 2 x 4 to pry it up.
