I have a 2yr old Kenmore top load Hi efficient washer that recently started making loud sounds during its operation. It sounds like the bearings or something are going. the sound is quite loud. Im wondering if this problem is worth repairing.

Need the correct model number. There should be a label somewhere with model number and serial number. May be under lid.

Model # 10.2130202
ser# C14031865

I just moved out washer to look inside. Directly under the center of the machine there was a "pile" of black debris looking like some kind of remnants from the "grinding" sound I was hearing.

Still missing numbers in that model number. Should be 11 numbers.

Ok, probably a loose nut on the main drive pulley has allowed the pulley to drop and the belt is rubbing on the belt guard. Tilt the washer back. There may be a sound dampener to remove, then remove the belt guard and check that nut. If loose, apply some Loctite blue 242 threadlocker to the threads before retightening. You may need to replace the belt if it's torn up badly.

Hey Eric, You hit it on the washer problem! In process of repair right now.
Another thing to pass by you if you would. I have a Whirlpool side by side refrige/freezer. Model # ED5PHEXRTOO Serial # SS0762317
I recently replaced the door cam on the refridge side (right side). I ordered actual whirlpool cams and installed them. Now, ever since, when you open and close the door it make a loud "click" sound when the door opens or is about all way closed. The parts I removed were worn and the new ones seem the exact same kind. Now I see the two pieces ride on each other, but the originals never made noise. Any ideas?

Can't help you on the fridge, might want to try the fridge/freezer forum.
