My 6 year old whirlpool washer works fine through all cycles, except when the water drains. There is a high pitched noise as the water is being pumped out. The water does drain out, just really noisy. Is this a water pump issue? Or does the motor have 2 drive ends, one for the agiator side and one for the drain pump side that could be a problem also? Please someone help!--Thanks!!

Yep,

Check to see if you have something caught in the pump.

This video will show you how.
