Hi,
The idler wheel is self adjusting. There is no way to tighten the belt.

I would remove the belt and turn the transmission pulley both ways to see if one direction is tight, if ok, check the pump for bad bearings. If everything ok, just replace the belt.

Thanks for your help yesterday, I did see that there is not way to adjust the belt, also, I what I found was that the pulley wheel was at the bottom of the cabinet. My question is there some way to fasten the pulley wheel to the pulley lever? I managed to get the pulley wheel back in place but it will not stay there on it's own.
Thanks again for your help Ramos

Iam not sure if you are getting my replies. I would like to know if there is a way to fasten the pulley wheel to the lever idler arm. I found the pulley wheel on the bottom of the cabinet, put it back in the lever idler arm but I am not sure if it will stay with out some way to fasten it.
Thanks for you kindly help.

The "C" clip/retainer ring may have popped off the idler shaft, just look for it, or the pulley may be bad. C clip part # 23748, pulley part # 40045001

My neptune washer model MAH3000AWW makes a high pitch whirling sound during the final spin cycle. I think the bearing for the inner tub is going bad but I can not find a bearing on your parts breakdown. Thanks russ rlney@msn.com
