We have a Maytag Atlantis MAV7200AWW that will not drain. I have taken it apart the only parts that look like they could be the cause are the belt and pump. The pump seems ok but how free spinning should the pulley be?

Hi Papermind There are only three reasons why your machine will not drain. 1. The belt is not turning the pump. You can observe whether or not this is happening by operating the machine with the front off. I assume you have done this and determined this is not the problem. 2. The drain system is clogged. Take off the pump and make sure nothing is blocking water from draining. 3. The pump is bad. This is likely your problem. There is a new design for this pump, here is the Maytag technical bulletin for it. http://www.servicematters.com/m...ary/docs/ITDL-0031-B.pdfI would say replace the pump and you should be fine. Good luck
