Washer is in a coin op facility. The machine will run through all cycles appropriately, but will not drain. During the drain cycle; the drum spins, pump and hoses are not clogged, belt is good, no funny smells. In addition: What is the process behind the drain cycle? The pump is not operated electronically, so does it have something to do with the brake?

The motor runs in opposite directions depending whether it's in agitate or spin mode. Only in spin mode, does the pump rotate in a direction that pumps the water out. If it rotates freely and there is no clog in the pump or hoses, either the pump impeller is bad or there is clothing between the tubs at the drain exit.
