Sorry about that. The model number is JED8230. Over this past weekend I switched the inserts and the problem stayed on the right side with the same issue. Both inserts work fine on the left side. Further testing showed that the right side only operates at the highest setting regardless of the dial selection. I have since then removed the dials from the right side.

Thank you for your assistance and you were right, it was the switch. It was the one that controlled the big burner and not the small one that turned both on. Wierd.

I would definitely buy my appliance parts from here, but this time I didn't have to. I contacted JA and explained what happened and was transferred to the safety dept instead of a tech dept. Wierd again. They said this unit was not covered by any recalls but they agreed to have the unit fixed out of warranty. I have a feeling I'm not the only one and someone has been hurt because of the switch\wiring setup on this unit.
