Calypso Dryer not heating. Prior to not heating, would sometimes run for couple of minutes, then cut off with error message- would have to restart. Seemed to be taking long time to dry clothes. Then recently, was drying too hot. Now, not drying at all. We cleaned lots of lint from the dryer, including the lint housing and duct and replaced thermal cut-off and other part that comes with it. Tested heating element and getting 250 volts but not getting hot. Does this mean that the heating element needs to be replaced?? Any other tests that we could perform? Thank you very much!

Here are your parts Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL GEW9868KL0 | AppliancePartsPros.comTested heating element and getting 250 volts but not getting hot. Does this mean that the heating element needs to be replaced?? Yes. You can double check it using resistance on your meter. Remove one wire from one side of the heater and check it, should be 10 ohms approximately. Any other tests that we could perform? Not really you will not know if you have another problem until you get the heater up and running. |
