I had a small gas leak that I found was coming from the fitting that threads into the assembly that diverts gas to the oven. I think this is called the gas regulator valve. I too the fitting out and added yellow teflon tape and reinstalled. The leak was fixed. However, now the surface burner work fine but the oven won't light. I do see a glow when I try to light the oven but there is no ignition. Thanks for any suggestions you can offer.

Solved problem. When I replaced fitting the tool I used to stabilize the valve assembly inadvertently hit the off button. The button is covered by a metal part that apparently shields it from being accidentally pushed. Didn't work in my case but the cover made it difficult to see that there was a button there at all. The metal shield has to be pivoted to operate the button. I did this and the oven work fine now. Hurray! One less thing on my to-do list!
