I want to replace the ice maker but I want to make sure thats really the problem. It seems it ought to be at the base of the refrigerator where the line feeds into the motor. If so can this be fixed?

Gene. Gene, The refrigerator Model No. is HMG 191300, Admiral Designer Series purchased in 2000. The Ice Maker Model No. is not noted on the equipment, but inside the refrigerator it says use Ice Maker HMG 901400. It worked fine until about six months ago when it stopped making ice. I believe the water stopped filling the compartment. Cindy

Cindy, The following is the ice maker kit recommended for your refrigerator. The kit includes the water valve as well. If you do not have a water filter installed yet I would recommend to do it too. - The ice maker kit Part number: AP4261368

I have replaced the lines. The ice maker is reconnected and it seems to be turning. There is no water. So if there is no water being pumped from the bottom could there be a motor in back of the refrig thats not pumping the water up? I think I need to replace this next. Thoughts? Cindy Schneider

The problem can be a bad water inlet valve on the back of the refrigerator (can be tested for continuity) or a bad ice maker (if it does not send proper signal to the water inlet valve). - The water inlet valve Part number: AP3961809
