Ice maker stopped producing ice. Water dispenser works fine. From reading other threads here looked at the LED indicator which normally flashes red with the freezer door open. The LED had been working and now just noticed it is off now. I had lowered the temp setting for the freezer yesterday to see if that would get ice going; as of this am no ice and now no LED to even indicate the ice maker is on.
Any ideas?
Thx.

I fixed my ice maker. The tube that runs into the tray was frozen. I unplugged it and massaged the black tube and it started working again. Not sure if this is your problem but you might try it.

For Aloubo If you have a meter, I can help. With no led light, you either have bad optics boards, or lack of power to the reciever board. Without a meter, you can still check for power to the optics. Remove both receiver and transmitter optic boards and locate the reciever connector. Insert a thin wire jumper between the connector pins with black/white and black wires. Icemaket should now work. If so, you probably have bad optics, but this will not test for a failed light switch wire. To test that, pull out the light switch, leave the wires connected, and place a thin wire jumper between pins with a yellow wire and black/ white wire. If icemaker works, that indicates that wire is ok, and the optics bad. If the icemaker will not work, this indicates either a bad icemaker, or wiring , or optics. The wire colors should all be the same for all Whirlpool and Kitchenaid refrigerators.
