I have a Whirlpool Duet Dryer purchased 4/4/04 brand new. Remember Irene back in August? she left 21/2 feet of water in my basement, after we got the water out of the basement and let everything dryout we checked the washer and dryer, the washer worked the dryer turned on<lights came on> but the barrell would not spin and motor didn't seem to do anything,. we thought it was just garbage. Recently my husband plugged it in and when he pushed the button we heard the motor hum but, the barrell wouldn't turn so, he pushed it while holding the button in and the darn thing turned and heated up.. only problem is when you let go of the button and close the door the barrell won't move without a push to the any suggestions?
