My dryer won't shut off at end of cycle like it used too.

Continue using it untill it totally quits working and at that point go find yourself another one, by now the plastic bearing in front is starting to crumble to pieces the slides are shot the heat element is sagging and about ready to short together and if they used a white plastic rear bearing it's about shot as well. Not to mention the blower assy is packed full of lint and making the motor run hot. When GE made those machines they didn't want you repairing them. But would rather see it crushed and recycled into something else

But would rather see it crushed and recycled into something else So, did I waste my friend's money by replacing his thermostats? His dryer was overheating. I also recommended a chimney sweep (the home builders in my area vent dryers through the roofs here). I don't remember his mod. #, but it is a late model GE.
