We own a Maytag MDE9706AYW dryer that has been great. It recently stopped turning off on its own. The timer does not seem to advance. I purchased and replaced the timer module on it but got the same result. We ran it while not attached to the vent as we read to try that in some forums. The heat works fine. The moisture sensor may not be working either and I'm curious if that could be related. I did notice that the bell never "dings" now either even when manually turning off with the dial.
Any help you can provide would be great.

Sometimes, one of the wires vibrates off of the sensor. I went out on a service call the other day and found that to be the problem. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
