My refrigerator is freezing. It is so cold in there that even the mayo is frozen. Turning the temperature dial does not help. Amy:eek:

Click on your model # above and locate the damper assembly on the fridg. left wall part # 426 Unplug connector to it and jam door 1/2 way open. This will temporarily fix your problem. Basically, if your damper door is jammed and will not move easily, you will need a new one. When plugged in and will always motor back to full open, you have other problems
If you can troubleshoot with a meter, go to web site www.*************.com/forum1/3075.html There you can get info for measuring you thermistor resistance for the fresh food section. Either you have a bad damper assembly or a bad motherboard in the back, or a bad fresh food thermistor. The service sheet should help if you find one. GE, in most cases has not supplied one. This service sheet is generic, and will not have wire color codes, but it is better than nothing!
