The 8" large surface element remains full on irregardless of where the temperature select dial is positioned. The element does not "cycle" depending upon the dial position. The element does shut off when the dial is in the "off" position.

I cannot find any info on the given model number.
Please check it.
I tried here, Sears and GE.

In any case I would replace the infinite switch.
