I have the same issue with dishwasher model GU940 SC GB2. It wan't drain. I found the diagram on your site and I understand that I need to check the check valve (item 15) but I need some instructions how to do that. Is there a service manual for this dishwasher?

Thank you Gene! I could jot figure out why water would not drain from my dishwasher, and was prepared to buy a new one. Your post on checking the disposal drain plug was exactly the problem I had. Your minder saved me a few hundred dollars and headache.

I've been reading the posts and this seems very helpful. hoping to get some guidance. I have the above model number which I believe has a soil settler unit on it. just noticed it did not drain this last cycle. there is no air gap. the drain tube connects directly to the drain pipes under a double sink, just before the drain trap. both sinks are draining fine so no blockage there.

where do I start in figuring out why it's not draining? thanks!

Hello,
I have a Whirlpool dishwasher du1055xtsb3 and it will not drain. We have replaced the drain pump still will not drain. The water drains straight into the sewer line. It does not do into the disposal. I have pulled off both drain hoses and neither of them look to be clogged. I have ran water through them both and it flow right through. The hose that come off of the dishwasher I tried to run water through it backward and the water did not come out so it looks like the valve is working and not letting the water run back into the dishwasher. We took the assembly apart at the bottom of the inside of the dishwasher and cleaned out a few items like seeds and stuff.. Where the drain hose connects to the main sewer line it looks to be a 1/4" pipe. I put my finger in there and it is clear. The pipe it dumps into is huge. I have not taken it apart to see if it was clogged. It is probably a three to four inch pipe. We have ran the dishwasher multiple times and the water level never rises so I assume most of the water is draining but there is a good one 1/2" to 1" at the bottom. Last evening after rechecking everything I did a rinse cycle and it worked. So I did a full washing and it did not work. I have done rinse cycles in the past and they did not work. I have hit the cancel button multiple times and it will not drain it. I believe that is all that I have done. Any ideas????
