Thanks for the help. I called GE this afternoon, and spoke to a very nice rep. She actually offered to send me the board free of charge, and said it would be here by Wednesday. She then said that it may be the motor, and if that is the case call her at her extension and she would give it to me for $90 plus tax and shipping. She said that this is a very common issue with this particular model.

Well that's good news. Yes, the motor is a high failure item but you don't appear to be getting the correct control voltages to the motor from the control board. These voltages tell the microprocessor on the motor inverter board what mode and speed to operate in. Anyway, let us know how it works out.

ordered the motor today. If this does not fix it I don't know what else to try.

UPDATE,
I ordered a motor last week and it turned out that GE sent me the wrong motor. The correct motor was delivered a little while ago, and all is good now. I have to give Amanda at GE credit. She sent me a control board free of charge, and sold me a new motor (updated model with the red light) for a discounted $90. She kept in contact with me via email, and was very helpful.
