When the machine goes into the spin cycle it creates a noise that sounds kind of like a bearing going out. Not knowing exactly where the noise is coming from, I started diagnostics by removing the agitator, turned it on and still had noise. I then removed the motor, turned it on and no noise. I then removed the clutch & gear-case, reattached the motor to the clutch & gear-case and turned in on and still no noise. the only thing left is the brake and drive tube.
Your thoughts please.

Could have a bad drive block. It's on the end of the spin tube and is used to attach the basket to the spin tube.

You didn't mention the water pump. Does the noise occur regardless if pump is attached to motor or not? If not the pump, check the drive block as suggested. Make sure the grooves in the block and tabs on drive tube are engaged and intact. Eric

The drive block appears to be fine as there is no play in it and visually it looks good [see pic 001]; and the noise occurs without the water pump. I put the gear case and clutch back on. Had some difficulty as the brake and drive tube had slipped out a bit, so I turned the drum and machine base upside down and it went in fine. I made sure the clutch spring was on the opposite the side of the tab on the brake cam driver. However, when I slipped the clutch assembly into the drive tube a couple of pins fell out [see pic 002] from where I do not know and have no clue as to where they go. I then reattached the motor and turned it on. In the spin cycle the drum, drive tube and shaft on the gear case all spin but then intermittently the shaft will hesitate and that is when and only when the noise occurs. Is the clutch bad? P.S. I was going to attach a short mp4 video file (30-60 seconds) but did not know how.

Those are shipping pins, just toss them out. Can you post a video on youtube? If I could hear the noise and see the agitator it would help. If the tub and agitator are spinning and then the agitator seems to quickly slow or stop with the noise at the same time you may have a bad agitator cam in the gearcase that may not present itself when you have the gearcase removed.

Yep, that sounds like a faulty agitate cam in the gearcase. It is not lifting the agitate gear completely off the drive splines on the agitator shaft. You can replace the gearcase or tear the gearcase down and replace the cam and cam follower. Eric
