I have a brand new screech-ie sort of noise that just began at start of spin cycle & continued throughout spin. Spin completed OK & I have not used since - don't want to destroy anything that is avoidable. Will appreciate suggestions on where to start to diagnose problem and correct as easily (and economically) as possible.

Only service in past 4 years - I replaced coupler (with some difficulty) a bit over a year ago. Thanks for any help you can offer

Possible a foreign object in the drain pump.

Remove the cabinet, remove the drain pump, bypass the lid switch and run the spin cycle.

If there is no noise - replace the drain pump.

If it's still noisy - let us know and we will go further.

- The part number for the drain pump is AP2907492

I really appreciate the very prompt reply. Can you also direct me to a blow-up showing most efficient way to remove cabinet (& pump)?

Thanks again,
Eli

Thank you so much for your help, Gene. No noise on spin after I took the pump off the motor drive shaft. When I took the bottom hose off, a small 1" brad/nail fell into the catch-pan. The pump impeller looked good through the water connectors, so I washed pump out thoroughly (no more foreign objects), reinstalled with perfect, QUIET function. I suspect this may have shortened the life of pump impeller, but OK for now.

I will check my pockets on shirts & pants more carefully from now on. Again, my sincere thanks.

Eli
