My Maytag Washer Machine is making noises during agitate and during Spin Cycle.

Agitate Noise: It appears like the noise occurrs when the tub hits a hard stop and then changes direction (Both directions).

Spin Cycle noise: It appears that the noise comes in two parts. The first noise occurrs in about three to five second intervals and is like a loud humming noise. The other noise comes from the shaking/vibrating of the tub.

Background: I recently replaced the drainage hose because it had a pin size hole. After that replacement I had to replace the idler pulley because the tub would not spin. After I replaced the idler pulley the washer machine worked fine but does not run smoothly.

Your Help is appreciated,

Joseph

I am thinking the brake rotor or pads are the problem, but it can also be the bearing.

You need the service manual and I cannot link you to it because Maytag will not make them available any more.

See if you can find one on the web for free or a small fee and it will tell you what you need to do.
