Fridge is 38 degrees F (temp control on 2). I have the freezer temp control all the way off (to the left of 1). I also noticed the freezer defrost cycle continues to work. I can find very little official information that lists a "too cold" freezer causing an ice make to stop working?

I did test the voltage straight from the icemaker molex connector (with the icemaker disconnected) across the black and white wires - and only read 40 Volts? It's not clear if this needs to always be 120 Volts?

Besides a bad replacement ice maker, the only other solution I can see worth trying is to replace the thermostat / control board or the damper assembly? If I set the refrigerator temperature control to off, it does shut off the compressor.

I ordered 'another' replacement ice maker unit, put it in, and it is already making ice after a couple hours. So it does seem like my first idea was right - the first new replacement ice maker was bad after all.

I have a kitchenaid refrigerator with an ice maker that is only making about 8 cubes of ice a day. The prongs that push the ice out are in the down position and the ice tray is full. So, it seems they are not cycling through and pushing the ice out when they are suppose to. I took the ice maker out and took it apart. There is nothing that looks wrong. All of the gears appear to move and the sensor lights are doing what they are suppose to. I do not have a voltage tester.

When I put the ice maker back together and turned it on, the prongs came up and it made one batch of ice. Then, this morning, the prongs are back in the down position, stuck in the ice.

Any suggestions? What should I replace?
