Refrigerator is currently around 32 degrees, even tho setting is at lowest (sun icon). Freezer is below zero, and is also set at lowest) . The freezer was accidentally turned off for part of a day last week. I also did clean the very dirty coils yesterday and also the back grate. What else should I try?

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for Amana TR18V2E REF - TOP MOUNT | AppliancePartsPros.com

Is the compressor cycling normally or is it on all the time?

Measure the freezer temperature. It should be between 0 and -5 degrees F.
If lower then your main thermostat (Item 62 in Section 5) probably needs replacing.

if the freezer temperature is OK then check the damper (Item 42 in Section 5), to see if it opens/closes depending on it's setting.
Check that the door can open/close, could be that due to the unit being turned off some water got into it and froze the door open.
Unfortunately it is obsolete.

No, door opens, closes oK. Seems to me freezer was running closer to ten below. A local outfit said something about setting the freezer colder so less cold gets circulated to fridge. Been less than 24 hours, but seemed to have no effect. He thought baffle might need replacing. Does that sound right?

I would get the freezer to the recommended temperature and then see what happens.
The 24 hours makes sense to me as the food/ice in the freezer will take quite a while to come up to temperature.
Lowering the temperature does not make sense as it will cause the compressor to run more and I believe your evaporator fan runs whenever the compressor runs so there is more air circulation.
Note:I may be out to lunch on this.

I do not know if I screwed up but I meant the door/flapper on the damper assembly.

It should close on the warmest fresh food setting.
