Hi,
I've replaced the ERC touch pad, part AP172494 and F1 error code is still flashing and beeping. When this happens, the touch pad is frozen except for th oven cancel button.
What else should I do?
Thanks, tim

Hi Tim, I need you to confirm which part did you replace. You said "touch pad" but the part number you posted ( AP172494) s for the ERC aka clock. Gene.

Tim, According to the tech sheets for your range the error code "F1" means "Shorted input pad" and correction is to replace the membrane switch. Replacing the ERC would not fix it. In order to provide the right part number for the membrane switch I need the color of the control panel. Here are the break down diagrams for the Amana range Model ARTSC8651SSGene.

It's black and part # AP172494.
I've already ordered part#AP93441-Membrane, switch panel (bl). I hope it's the right one.

Tim As this thread is really old, I want to make sure that I'm getting the right part. I have the same make and model as Tim had, Amana ARTSC8651SS and I also have diagnosed the problem (F1) to be a shorted membrane (Thanks to the help of this awesome forum!!!) I took the panel apart and disconnected the ribbon and powered the oven back on and the beeping noise stopped, the timer was flashing. I can still use the electric top but the oven panel is now disconnected. I went to the parts diagram and the BLACK membrane that I need is listed as part number AP4039872. Am I looking at the right part here? Did Tim's part number get changed over time to this new one I found? I'm just trying to make sure since it's an expensive part!! Thank you so much for this awesome website, I've never would have attempted to fix it myself it if were not for this site!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! PS> The part I'm referring to from Tim's post is what he calls part number AP93441-Membrane, switch panel (bl). Thank you all again!! Alex.
