I had the same problem as everyone else in this thread. F1 error came up on the panel, and kept beeping, with only the Cancel button working. From the info in the thread, I ordered the black membrane part yesterday, about $128 + tax and shipping, and got it today. Looking at it, it was very easy to replace - just 8 screws. 4 screws attaching the circuit board to the membrane, and 4 screws attaching the membrane to the chassis. A simple ribbon cable attaching the membrane to the circuit board.
It took about 20 minutes to replace with a single philips screwdriver. The hardest part was holding up the stovetop with my head while removing the circuit board and membrane parts. It would help to have a partner hold up the stovetop while you do this.
