Our ice maker quite dispensing ice through the door, we found that the mechanism was frozen in the back by the gear. We thawed out the freezer and reattached the ice maker and the same thing happened the connection by the gear was covered in ice and there was ice on the shelf below the icemaker. It seems that the ice maker is pushed tightly into place yet it continues to freeze at the connection and don't work, it does make ice however.

Check your flapper to make sure it's closing all the way. If you look at the breakdown here it's page 3 part #7. Have run into that a few times in our area. The flapper gets stuck open thus allowing the ice in the chute to melt then refreeze causeing an ice dam and allowing the ice to build up in the container and over flowing. hope that helps
