GE ice maker has stopped dumping ice. The ice detector arm is in the down in the on position. I can manually turn the fingers and the ice maker will start to turn and eject the ice. Water will then flow into the mold and freeze but the ice maker will not eject the new ice.

There is obviously a problem with one of the components in the ice maker mechanism, however, it is often less headache and more cost effective to replace the entire mechanism than to repair individual components.
Sounds like an issue with the timer, or thermostat.
