Greetings,
Drum will not turn, manually turning will start, otherwise motor just hums. Is there a start capitor or thermal disc, etc., that starts motor or is motor just defective?

Here are your parts Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL WED5800SG0 29"electric Dryer | AppliancePartsPros.comIs there a start capitor or thermal disc, etc., that starts motor No, the motor uses a start winding to start it. This is then switched out of circuit by a centrifugal switch built into the motor assembly once the motor gets close to operating speed. or is motor just defective Yes odds are high that the motor is toast. One thing you could check is that there is not a bad or loose connection to the start/run switch on the motor. |
